Communications Policy
All communications are through email from Arts Alive. Please do not call any of the school offices with questions about plays.
It is imperitive that we have the correct email for you and any other caregivers for your child. Also, please ensure that you are able to receive emails from [email protected].
Discipline Policy
Arts Alive! expects students in the school play program to conduct themselves as they would in a normal school day. Arts Alive! upholds the same behavior expectations as the schools in which it operates. Students are to follow the same guidelines for being safe, being respectful and being responsible. You may refer to your school’s web site for more specific information on the behavioral expectations under PBIS (positive behavioral interventions & supports).
Should a behavior issue arise, the Arts Alive! Director and/or Assistant Director will follow these procedures:
1. Student will be warned (parents also notified)
2. Student will be referred to school Principal (parents also notified)
3. Parents will be notified; Not to suggest removal from the play, but to require parent involvement at rehearsals in order to resolve behavior issues
4. Removal from the program
Attendance Policy
The play consists of an ensemble cast. Even if you think your child has a small part, they are a significant part of the play. Their absence affects the entire cast. Please do your best to ensure that your child is present for every rehearsal for which they are called. If your child has to miss a rehearsal, please notify us as soon as possible. More than three (3) absences may result in a student’s lines being reassigned to another actor and/or removal from the play.
Refund Policy
While we are confident that your experience with Arts Alive will be a positive one, we have outlined our refund policy below. All refund requests must be made in writing and submitted to [email protected].
If a registered student decides not to participate in the Arts Alive school program:
– A full refund, minus a $30 processing fee will be given if the student withdraws, prior to the first day of auditions

Play Selection Process
At Arts Alive! we pride ourselves on challenging your kids, but we also take age appropriateness seriously. That’s why we license “Kids” and “Jr” versions of the plays we produce. Kids and Jr versions of plays are not the same as what you see on Broadway, or what you might remember from the movies. Broadway choreography is too difficult for elementary and middle school students, so the dances are simplified. Likewise, the music is changed to accommodate young voices that cannot yet hit all the notes you hear from seasoned theatre professionals.
Kids and Jr plays are also edited with both length and age appropriateness in mind by education and theater professionals. In the same way that children are not yet ready to perform the complex choreography of a typical Broadway play, there are some themes and plot lines that they are not yet ready for either. All of the play selctions are adapted to current times with material appropriate for school aged students, with a “G” rating.
We are very grateful that you trust your kids with us as they learn, develop, and hopefully build a life-long love of the performing arts.
Thank you,
The Arts Alive Team
Late Registration Policy
At Arts Alive! we pride ourselves in being able to provide our families well-organzied play programs with safe and efficient processes. After registration for our programs closes we have a very short amount of time to prepare for our staff, schools, and families for the next step of auditions and rehearsals. Please note, we do not accept late registrations; as such, if you miss the registration deadline you will be added to a waitlist. The allowance of late-registration from the waitlist will be subject to availability. Please be aware any inquires for late registrations should be made through Arts Alive! and not the schools or PTOs. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.
Thank you,
The Arts Alive Team
Casting Process
At Arts Alive! we ask that all children involved in our school play programs, end Grade and up participate in an informal, fun and low-pressure audition. Our professional Directors evaluate actors based on their voices, movement, and personality. Our Directing Team then spends many hours considering each child as an individual to detemine which role they are best suited for which will allow them to shine in the performance. We are very grateful that you trust your kids with us as they learn, develop, and hopefully build a life-long love of the performing arts. Please note that all casting decisions are final and will not be changed after the cast list has be released. PLEASE NOTE: Complaints regarding casting will not be responded to. Please help to remind your child that there are no small parts and that the ensemble is just as important as a lead role. Our focus is teamwork and providing each child an opportunity to grow as an individual.
Thank you,
The Arts Alive Team
School Attendance/ Sickness & Health Policy
School Attendance/ Early Dismissal/ Sickness
If a student is absent from school or dismissed from school early due to illness or health concerns, they will not be permitted to participate in any Arts Alive! after school activities, including rehearsals, tech week events, or performances.
Head Lice
If a participant is diagnosed with head lice, Arts Alive! will require that they receive at least one treatment prior to returning to rehearsal, tech week events, or performances. Given the nature of our programs in which students are in close proximity and may often have costume pieces stored together in backstage areas during performance, we want to do our due diligence to ensure there is no further spread.
